The state of Florida has everything, the Atlantic Ocean on one side the Gulf of Mexico on the other side, a swamp to the south, prairies and forest in the center. In the mid-eighteen hundreds a migration of settlers headed to the Hernando County area of Florida to tame the wilderness. Men and women came in equal numbers.
