Abia asteptam sa citesc aceasta carte si mi s-a parut perfecta. Cu greu am putut sa o las din mana, vreau sa aflu neaparat ce se intampla in urmatorul volum

Protagonista romanului este Evangeline Fox, o tânără care a crescut în magazinul de curiozități al tatălui ei, unde s-a cufundat în mituri și legende. Când Luc, iubirea vieții lui Evangeline, o abandonează brusc în favoarea surorii ei vitrege și vrea să se căsătorească cu ea imediat, Evangeline este disperată să oprească nunta și să-l recâștige pe Luc. Îi vine destul de firesc că ar trebui să caute ajutor de la una dintre Sortele legendare, în special de la Jacks, Prințul Inimilor. Dacă cineva o poate ajuta, ea este sigură că este el și este dispusă să plătească orice preț îi cere. Ea știe că orice târg pe care o face cu Soarta îi va schimba viața pentru totdeauna; pur și simplu nu știe dacă această schimbare va fi în bine sau în rău.

Am adorat-o foarte mult pe Evangeline. M-am simțit atât de rău pentru ea în acele scene de deschidere pentru că este absolut supărată că Luc și sora ei vitregă ar trăda-o așa și nu mai știe în cine să mai aibă încredere. Este oarecum naivă în ceea ce privește dragostea și relațiile și faptul că unii oameni pur și simplu înșală, dar am admirat sentimentul de determinare pe care l-a manifestat când mergea la Prințul Inimilor.
