10 Days: A Dee Rommel Mystery - Jule Selbo

10 Days: A Dee Rommel Mystery

Selbo, Jule: - Jule grew up in Fargo, North Dakota and at a young age, put on original plays in her garage and then making short films at the local junior high school. As a student at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas she continued to write plays as well as short stories that were published in the Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine. Her passion for theater eventually took her to UNC, Chapel Hill and then to New York City where her plays were performed off-off Broadway, in regional theaters and in Los Angeles; these earned her gigs writing for network television and, eventually, major film studios in Hollywood, both in live action and animated projects. She moved into academia in the early 2000s and became a professor at California State University, Fullerton, teaching Screenwriting classes and World Cinema. Her books on Story Structure and Screenwriting, Film Genre and Women Screenwriters are used in universities across the globe. She loved her yearly teaching stint in Florence, Italy -and this is where her prior novel Find Me in Florence was born. She moved to Portland, Maine to concentrate on writing novels -not realizing it was home to some of the country's most accomplished and exciting novelists. Other books include historical fiction: Dreams of Discovery, Based on the Life of Explorer John Cabot and Breaking Barriers, Laura Bassi and the Enlightenment. She loves being part of the writing community there, sailing with her husband and playing pickleball.
