"I do not know why I scooped Ted out of the tide pool; I didn't know he was attached to his stub of a tail! Washing and brushing still didn't help the way he looked, even when I sewed two buttons on him so he would have some eyes; but wherever I went over the course of the years, Ted came along. Now he lives a quiet life, sitting in a little red wagon with two friends. They can see out the big window to the mountains, the cedar and fir trees, and the birds flying by, and when the wind blows, the trees wave their branches and chase the clouds away.
