Meet PAL Hershey and join him as he prepares for a school visit! Through rhythm, rhyme and alphabetical sequence, children will gain a deeper understanding of the role of a reading therapy dog.

The introductory pages invite children to connect with Hershey as a dog and explore his hobbies and compare them to similar interests that they may share. (Be ready for some silly photos, captions, and questions for the reader as Hershey shares some of his favorite times outside of his role as a reading therapy dog!)

The second half of the book is an extensive resource section, divided for children and for parents, educators, and dog handlers. An interactive reflection section for children is designed to enrich and extend children's learning, complete with ways to send messages, pictures, and notes to PAL Hershey. The adult resource section has an extensive array of literacy development strategies and activities to extend learning at home. Integrating literacy into family time can be easy, fun, and beneficial with the wide variety of examples and strategies provided.
