Mila's Story is a non-fictional story about a non-verbal child with a rare and terminal metabolic disease, Pyruvate Dehydrogenase Complex Deficiency. She attends school but is unable to communicate. Mila's Story answers some of the basic questions that Teachers and young classmates have for a special student. "Hope Flies" in a firefly derives from the thought, 'how can Doctors and Scientists apply the concept of fireflies protein creating energy to shine, to humans with metabolic diseases, creating energy to live a healthier life?'
