The sunny palette of orange, red, turquoise, and yellow underscore this family story of warmth and caring. Second, the child's regret at breaking her father's favorite mug is conveyed realistically, and the unfolding of the incident serves to enforce a message of family unity and trust. I have not seen the previous Honeycake books, but since I am a grandmother, I certainly plan to check them out as potential gifts!"
