The incurable nature of Orbis City, the last civilization on Earth, drove the people to near extinction. Dr. Hartford, leader of the mysterious Sigmund Project, hopes to cure Orbis of its fruitless vanity. He is willing to do anything to preserve the human race, even at the cost of people's freedom, unless a radical named Oliver changes Dr. Hartford's mind by showing him a way that doesn't require evil but instead leads to a new world entirely beyond Orbis City's foreboding walls.
