of the Woods, and three memoirs: The Same River Twice, No
Heroes, and My Father, the Pornographer. He has written
screenplays for Weeds, True Blood, and Treme,
and has received fellowships from the Lannan and Guggenheim foundations. He
lives near Oxford, Mississippi
