There are five main characters in the series of different heritage and background that represent the beautiful melting pot that is America. The five kids are Zara of West African descent - via Nigeria and the Ivory Coast, Lee of Korean descent, Emma an Irish American, Mia of Mexican heritage and Rohan of Indian descent. This group of friend have forged a close bond through their regular adventures at the library for storytime. At each encounter they are taken on an adventure in the stories they read and become a part of the adventure. They work together to help solve problems and through their journey have found a love for reading and learning.
