Demystifying Mediumship: what makes a medium? - Kerry Alderuccio

Demystifying Mediumship: what makes a medium?

In 2012, Kerry Alderuccio lost her 19-year-old son, Sam, in a tragic car accident. Kerry's understanding of death differed completely to what most people believed, she had within her an innate knowing that death meant 'life after life', and that was where her interest lay. Until that moment, she'd been oblivious to the world of mediums, psychics, and healers. This personal discovery made Kerry question why mediumship was universally misunderstood and its healing powers often overlooked. An unexplained mystery surrounded the practice of mediumship and Kerry wanted to explore the misconceptions and fallacies associated with it. To answer this question, Kerry reached out to seventeen respected mediums from different countries, ages, and backgrounds to share their own unique stories of how their mediumship journeys unfolded. All were known to Kerry personally, but their life stories were not. Many practiced their mediumship full-time and taught these age-old forms of spirit communication world-wide as professional tutors, speakers and practitioners, and others choose to use their unique gift in more main stream business practices. Demystifying Mediumship is the product of those conversations. It details powerful stories of personal loss, pain, sexuality, alcoholism, religion and escape, as well as love and hope. It sensitively tells their stories and the catalyst that led each of them to discovering their gift. The many challenges that each emerging medium faced, were as varied as their pathways in life. The brutal honesty and heart-warming stories of healing and hope are intertwined in each anecdote. Kerry explains mediumship as a practice in plain and simple language, helping readers to understand this ancient form of communication with the spirit world. Importantly, Kerry leaves the reader to consider the 'what ifs' of the continuation of life after a p
